Contingency Fee Structured Settlements: Overview and Updates


In this session the attorney will learn the background that allows their contingency fee income to be deferred or structured. The Childs v. Commissioner case along with other relevant case background will be discussed. In addition, required language that needs to be considered for inclusion in the Release and Assignment documents will be discussed. This session will also present the choices available for funding attorney fee structured settlements, ranging from the fixed payment programs to the indexed annuity and enhanced attorney fee programs that are tied to market-related performance.
